AVENTIA’s collaboration with AKI Portugal in the restructuring of its e-commerce site -aki.pt- has been a great success

GROUPE ADEO’s companies in 2010 reached a turnover of 12.8 million euro and had an annual growth of 15%. 62.400 employees work for the group of 24 companies located in 11 countries. Its best known brands are: Leroy Merlin, AKI BRICOCENTER, WELDOM, BRICOMAN, Bricomart, DOMPRO, Zoni, KBANE.

Within this group, Aki is the leading brand in Portugal in the field of DIY and décor and garden. With 27 stores, 1.300 employees and expansion plans for 2015, after having revealed a constant concern in customer satisfaction by providing specialized and innovative services, resulting in a continued investment in new opportunities, which highlights the company’s online service. This service represents the object of professional collaboration between AKI and AVENTIA, which is responsible for the technological restructuring of AKI’s site and the introduction of advanced e-commerce systems.

Therefore, AVENTIA as prime contractor was responsible for the creation and delivery of a modern online platform tailored to the needs of DIY, décor and garden sectors that requires a higher quality in both products and services.

Among other advantages, the brand wants to achieve three million visits in late 2011 to the new site www.aki.pt by being the only DIY, décor and garden website with an online store in it, as well as encouraging business and supporting the buying process through this channel.
According to Luis Caldas, Marketing Director of AKI “AKI.pt site has currently an average volume of more than 250.000 visits per month and growth rates of online business always in tune with the three-figure numbers.

After a year of the pilot project in online sales, it was very clear to figure a need to further develop the channel and to adapt it to the current level of ambition. In this sense, it began in 2010 a project to develop a new website designed from scratch graphical, technological and ergonomically.

The new platform, designed from scratch, will allow AKI brand to help its customers to find out solutions tailored to their needs and demands through products, tips, ideas and practical solutions in order to get their projects of economical renovation and space equipment; and to be available to more than 12.000 references appropriately detailed and organized. The monitoring on commercial growth in online sales and the strengthening of the proximity to customers across the country, they are now possible with this platform by keeping the AKI brand at the forefront of digital communication.

Because of AKI requirements regarding service and delivery, and also due to have been made according to quality parameters whose AVENTIA is governed by, we can say that this project was a success. On the other hand, AVENTIA was also awarded with the website maintenance for a period of one year, which includes prevention components (performance monitoring) and evolutionary (update, improve and add new e-commerce features).
