System validation of the town gas meters telemanagement for Gas Natural Fenosa in Italy

In the middle of the pathway that is being gone all over by diverse European countries, Italy has been one of the first in regulating the deployment of the gas meters telemanagement. The telemanagement model considers the replacement of the current traditional town gas meters by “Smart Meters” with advanced functionalities like: the availability of a telemanaged valve which allows to control the gas supply, the compensation of the measure by temperature in order to achieve main accuracy and the communication capacity for remotely manage the meter.

Among other milestones, in a gradual process of the system deployement which ends up in 2016, the published regulation forces to the deployment of the 5% of the domestic customers to the end of 2012.

In this context, and taking advantage of the extensive experience that Doxa Consulting has in this field, the company is consulting to Gas Natural Fenosa Italy (GNF Italy) in the process of analysis and technological validation as well as in the training of the process system establishment. Among the activities that Doxa Consulting is carrying out in this project field, we can find: the analysis of regulated functionalities for the Italian market, the analysis of available technologies for its coverage as well as its validation in a real environment prior to implantation.
